Italian Futurism: 1909–1944 Reconstructing the Universe
Italian Futurism, 1909–1944 was a landmark, museum-wide exhibition spanning the Guggenheim’s rotunda and surrounding galleries. Curated by Vivien Greene and designed architecturally by exhibition designer Jarrod Beck, the show required a graphic system capable of operating fluidly within Frank Lloyd Wright’s continuously curving space.
As Exhibition Graphic Designer, I developed the museum-wide graphic language—titles, wall texts, signage, maps, and interpretive elements—designed specifically for a building without straight lines. Typography and layouts were skewed and paced to echo Futurism’s core themes of movement, speed, and modernity, allowing the graphics to feel embedded in the architecture rather than overlaid onto it.
In parallel, I designed the exhibition poster, opening invitations, and promotional materials, extending the visual identity beyond the galleries. The result was a cohesive experience that guided visitors through a complex historical narrative while maintaining clarity, rhythm, and spatial balance.
